Exploring Predator and Prey: Our Community Talk at REI Inspired by Fishers in the Forest

We are excited to share that we will be visiting REI soon for a special community event about predator and prey relationships in nature. This talk will bring together families, educators, and nature lovers to explore the fascinating world of forest ecosystems through the story of Fishers in the Forest: The Pacific Fisher in Sequoia and Kings Canyon, part of our Bringing National Parks to Life series.

During the event, we will talk about how Pacific fishers live, hunt, and survive in the mountain forests of California. These small but powerful animals play an important role in maintaining forest balance. They are predators that hunt small mammals and birds, yet they are also prey for larger animals like mountain lions and coyotes. Through this discussion, we hope to help families see how every creature has a purpose in maintaining the health of the natural world.

This REI event will be a fun and meaningful way to connect story, science, and conservation. We hope you will join us to learn more about predator-prey relationships and discover how Fishers in the Forest can inspire young readers to care for the wild places we all share.
