Fishers in the Forest Named to the NatGen Long List

We are honored to share that Fishers in the Forest has been named to the Nature Generation long list.

The Nature Generation Awards recognize books that help young readers connect with nature and learn about the natural world through story. Being included on the long list places our book alongside other works that encourage curiosity, observation, and a deeper understanding of the outdoors.

Fishers depend on large, connected forest landscapes to move, hunt, and survive. Because of this, forest health and habitat continuity are important parts of conservation work in the region.

In the story, Adele and her dad meet Marisol, a wildlife biologist who studies fishers. They learn how researchers use wildlife cameras and field observations to better understand fishers' behavior.

The Bringing National Parks to Life series helps young readers to see that national parks are living ecosystems where animals, plants, and people are connected through stewardship.

We are grateful to the scientists, educators, and families who support this work, and to the children who read these stories and begin to look at the natural world with curiosity.

We invite you to join us in exploring and sharing the remarkable stories of national park animals, and encourage others to discover, protect, and celebrate these special places.
