Family Nature Learning with Fishers in the Forest

In Fishers in the Forest, our ranger guides a family through the forest, exploring the lives of fishers, the other animals that share their habitat. Along the way, children and adults learn how each species survives and interacts in the wild.

A favorite hands-on activity uses real animal skulls to teach about predator-prey relationships. Families can see the differences between carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores by looking at the teeth and eye placement of an animal. These interactive lessons spark curiosity and help children understand the important roles animals play in their ecosystems.

Fishers in the Forest helps families connect with nature and deepen their appreciation for wildlife. Learning together encourages observation, critical thinking, and respect for the natural world.

This book is great for families who want to learn more about forest animals, explore ecology, and enjoy educational outdoor adventures. We offer our science workshops for classrooms, libraries, museums, Girl Scout troops, and homeschool groups.
