Teen Camping Workshop at the Pio Pico Branch Library
For many teens, camping is something they have heard about but never had the chance to try. Knowing how to set up a tent, prepare a campsite, or even where to begin can make the outdoors feel unfamiliar. The Pio Pico Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library is offering a program that introduces teens to the basics of camping in a hands-on and approachable way.
Teens will learn about national and state park passes, how to set up a tent and campsite, and what to bring on a camping trip. The program will also cover the principles of Leave No Trace and why caring for parks and natural spaces is so important.
Outdoor programs teens build confidence while learning practical skills they can use with family and friends. They also create opportunities for young people to spend time outside, explore parks, and better understand how to respect and protect the environment.
The workshop is a great starting point for teens who are curious about camping, hiking, or visiting national and state parks for the first time.
